"When people tell me they could listen to me talk about food all day, it’s a great comfort. I love food, people. I just do. I love playing around with it, I love seeing what innovative things others are doing with it, and above all, I just love to eat it.
The great thing about food is that it satisfies both practical and frivolous needs. Wake up feeling like you got trampled by a herd of influenza buffalo? Better get your hands on the best tom yam soup in your delivery radius. In a terrible mood and craving seriously decadent treats? Thank god there are a fleet of food trucks slinging everything from gourmet grilled cheese to sushi burritos to the best damn tacos you'll ever lay mouth upon.
Stress baking rules, but if you're stress baking, you wanna go with cookies. I for one cannot stress bake a pie, because that pie can feel my stress. I will never be on the Great British Bake Off, mostly because I'd probably pull an Iain. (GBBO fans, anyone?) But I seriously love baking pie. Here's a brief slideshow of pies I have made:
